From 2016 all students and schools will be measured on how much progress they make from when they start in Year 7 to when they complete their exams at the end of Year 11. This will be known as Progress 8. The first national Progress 8 data was released in October 2016. View the DfE’s video guide to the new measure and our school’s results below.

Headline figures for GCSE results are as follows:

70% of students secured 5 or more grades at A*-C, including English and Maths.
44% of students secured at least one A* or A grade, with 64 students (33%) securing 3+ A*/A grades and 60 students (31%) securing 8+ grades at A*/A.
95 students (49%) achieved the English Baccalaureate, double the national average.
193 students (99%) secured 5 or more grades at A*-G.
192 students (99%) secured at least one grade at A*-C.
All students (100%) secured at least one qualification.

Key Stage 4 Results:

  • Progress 8 score = +0.28
  • Attainment 8 score = 53.8 (C grade)
  • Percentage of pupils who got a good pass (grade C or above) in English and maths = 70%
  • Percentage of pupils achieving the English Baccalaureate combination of subjects (this means pupils who got a GCSE grade C or above in English, maths, 2 sciences, a language, and history or geography) = 46%
  • Student ‘destinations’ (the percentage of students who continue in education or training, or move on to employment after the end of key stage 4) = 96%
